Alsea Falls

Just took a day trip over to Alsea Falls to check out the campground and trails. This natural area is only about 15 miles south of our house. Our plan was to camp there this weekend in our new camper, but we will have to wait til they open in May. Oh well, it was fun to explore.

I just threw this picture in because it is rare to get the three of us together in a photo.

Stuff in March

Just a few days ago Gabe turned 20 months old! He is doing very well....we are all doing well and really looking forward to nicer weather. Here are a few pics of us bumming around outside. The "fire engine" is a hand me down from the Mills' boys, and, until now, has only been enjoyed by visiting kids. It plays some very "catchy" songs. I guess we got lucky in that it still works after being subjected to winter time monsoons. (sarcasm :)

Last year, Grampa brought the Dump truck for Gabe, and he really likes picking up rocks in the driveway and dumping them back out. This may prove to be a valuable skill in the future.

We have had some success in the "potty", but I can tell it is going to be a long road with many "accidents" along the way. He does like to sit on the potty and always points and says "poop" as he walks by, but most of that is just for fun.

"Grandma Nancy" and "Great Grandma" came for a short weekend visit. We had a big storm when they were here and the power went out for an entire evening. We were able to make the best of it by visiting and reading by candlelight.

My little boy...always playing around...

February Wrap-up

Trying to keep Gabe entertained inside the house is starting to get more challenging. He is so curious and has so much energy, it's hard to find enough to do to keep busy. He really likes to be a big "helper" and I always give him lots of encouragement when he tries to "help". I say that in the most loving way, of course.

Gabe and his very own "Monkney" sent to him special delivery by Sister Rita!

We got our yearly snow storm about a week ago. Only totaled about two inches here in the valley, but that's a big deal to us. When Gabe woke up and looked outside, he was pretty confused and then got more excited as he saw the snow coming down out every window he ran to. Of course, we had to go outside and play in the snow.

Latest Happnins

I KNOW! I haven't blogged in a LONG time. I guess winter time is pretty slow for us.... We are all doing good, though. Gabe continues to grow like a little weed. He is saying alot of words now and is a very easy kid (so I have been told). I feel pretty lucky to have such a mellow little guy! I have been taking pictures so I just wanted to share some of those....

He LOVES to be outside and we are lucky to have 3 acres to roam...

This is a rare moment...but he does entertain himself a few minutes each day!

Getting IN and UP on everything!

First Haircut

Well, I finally broke down and took Gabe to get his very first haircut! He did awesome. The beautician gave him a comb to hold in each hand and he just sat very still with his mouth open the whole time. I think he was trying to figure out what was happening.

The final product! He looks very good with his new haircut!
