Building Demo

We had our old outbuildings demolished this week to make room for our new pole building.  There are several video's on YouTube (above) and a slide show of pictures as well.  And Just in case you're wondering, Gabe has a great time! At one point, we had gravel trucks, Garbage Truck, LesSchwab Service Truck, and BobCat all in our driveway at the same time.  (Oh, Remember, you can click on the video frame and it will take you to the You Tube website where you can enlarge the video.)

Good Bye Old Shed...

Lambing Barns

Oregon State University's veterinary department has a big barn facility where they birth lambs every spring. It is open to the public on certain days, and it is a big hit with the kids. We got to see a lamb being born and spent about an hour watching all the little lambs too. Gabe had a good time...I think he really enjoyed being that close to all the sheep and their babies.

All the (human) mothers with their little ones kept saying "poor mama sheep, we know how you feel". The lambs are just constantly harassing the mamas; trying to nurse, biting on, climbing on, etc.

2012 Flood

The photo slide show can be enlarged by clicking on the image and expanding the view from the You Tube website. Following a heavy snow-storm, something known as "The Pineapple Express" showed up causing heavy flooding in our area. Our property is home to two creeks. One is an un-named feeder creek that follows our driveway and dumps into Starr Creek that runs the back (north) side of our property. Although our property is in the flood zone, our house is not but as a precaution, it has been built up alittle and has a bottom flow thru in case of high waters. Luckily it did not get high enough this time!

New cabinet hardware, light fixtures, and molding were also a part of our mini kitchen re-do.
